Situated between US Routes 6 and 40, Lakewood’s favorite craft brewery combines a passion for vintage cars, craft beer, and community. Following successful careers in automotive service and banking, Tom and Eileen Schurmann opened 6 and 40 Brewery in 2020 as a gathering place for family and friends. Since that time, the brewery has established itself as a formidable player in the Colorado Craft Beer market, winning numerous awards and participating in local and national festivals. And Tom’s Brew Shop next door is one of the few remaining homebrew supply stores in the Denver area, proudly servicing the brewing needs of hobbyist and commercial brewers alike.

Each member of our crew is fueled by the craft brewing community in Lakewood. In the Garage you can expect to find a selection of year-round beers that pair nicely with your favorite food truck fare. Or seasonal and experimental beers that reflect the spirit and interests of our customers. Even hard root beer or other seltzer options for the folks that drink, but don’t drink beer! Whatever brings you to the Garage, our team will make sure you’re always taken care of.
When your car needs serviced, you take it to your trusted mechanic. Because you know you will be happy the result. We want to give visitors to 6 and 40 Brewery a similar experience: a handcrafted pint and the service you’d expect without breaking the bank. We are proud to offer 20 beers and seltzers on tap in a retro mechanics’ garage environment our fans best describe as an automobile “mini museum.”
